Why Choose Discovery Pisa Tours

Seeing the Leaning Tower is easy, but understanding how Pisa became one of the most powerful maritime republics in the Mediterranean is a different story.

That’s where a guided tour with Discovery Pisa makes all the difference.

As a local Pisa specialist, we help you notice details you would normally miss, hear stories that never make it into guidebooks, and discover how Pisa’s famous landmarks are connected to everyday life.

The best tours don’t just share information. They make the whole experience unforgettable.

Small Groups, Real Experience

Our tours are intentionally small so everyone can hear, ask questions, and enjoy the experience without feeling lost in a crowd.

Stories, Not Lectures

We believe history should feel like a conversation. You will learn a lot about Pisa, but it will feel like listening to great stories, not attending a class.

Relaxed, Fun, Memorable

Travel days can be long and full of logistics. Our goal is simple: to help you slow down, enjoy the moment, and discover Pisa in a relaxed and enjoyable way.

Meet Andrea & Anastasia, Your Local Pisa Guides

Andrea is originally from Spain, but she fell in love with Pisa years ago…cand never left. After becoming a licensed tour guide, she founded Discovery Pisa with a simple idea in mind: guided tours should be for everyone, not just large organized groups.

Andrea wanted every visitor to have the chance to explore the city with a local expert, in an easy and accessible way. Since then, thousands of travelers have discovered Pisa through her tours.

A few years later, Anastasia joined the team as a German-speaking guide. Half Italian and half German, she quickly became a key part of the experience, bringing her own perspective and energy to every tour.

Today, Anastasia works alongside Andrea as partner and director of Discovery Pisa. Together, they share the same vision: helping visitors experience Pisa as a living, vibrant city, not just the home of the Leaning Tower.

Good to Know Before You Book

A few practical answers to help you choose the right Discovery Pisa experience and plan your visit with confidence.

Some tours include Leaning Tower tickets, while others offer them as an optional add-on. Check the individual tour page before booking so you know exactly what is included.

For first-timers in Pisa, we usually recommend the Small-Group Highlights Tour. It gives you the clearest introduction to Miracle Square, including the Leaning Tower, Cathedral, Baptistery, and the stories behind Pisa’s most famous landmarks.

Do I need to book your tours in advance?

Advance booking is recommended, especially if you want to add Leaning Tower tickets or visit during the busier travel season. Small-group places and ticket availability can be limited.

Are your tours suitable for families and older travelers?

Our tours are designed to be relaxed, clear, and easy to follow, which makes them a good fit for families, couples, and multi-generational trips. Check each tour page for duration and pace before booking.

Do you offer private tours?
